Tonight was my final solo DMA recital. I just posted some more personal reflections privately; log in (or email me for an account) to see them. It wasn't note-perfect, but I feel pretty decent about it. I think I represented myself fairly well, but more importantly, I represented Tomasi's music fairly well.

One of my goals was to show the less experienced students what a "trombone recital" can be; too often these events are rote and lifeless. I think this performance, on the contrary, was exciting. I hope the music took on a life of its own beyond a student recital; that the artistic vision overcame the mundanity of class requirements and educational routine.

Now I just have to finish my paper, and I get to graduate!
